HoodShield was founded by John and Andrea Flannigan to meet the growing demand for dependable commercial kitchen hood cleaning and kitchen exhaust system cleaning throughout the Fox Cities and Northeast Wisconsin. After years of operating successful service businesses, they recognized that many restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, churches, and other commercial kitchens had limited access to responsive, professional hood cleaning services focused on safety, compliance, and customer care.

Their background in professional exterior cleaning through Window Genie and ventilation system cleaning through Mr. Duct Cleaner provided a strong foundation in specialized cleaning, commercial service, and attention to detail. That experience, combined with professional equipment and a commitment to industry best practices, led to the creation of HoodShield—a company dedicated exclusively to helping commercial kitchens operate more safely and efficiently.

Before launching HoodShield, John and Andrea met with restaurant owners, facility managers, and fire safety professionals throughout the Fox Cities. The message was consistent: businesses needed a local company that would show up when promised, communicate clearly, provide thorough documentation, and help maintain cleaner, safer kitchen exhaust systems. That feedback confirmed the need for a company built around reliability, professionalism, and long-term customer relationships.
